Lake Charles man dies in early morning crash in Calcasieu Parish

A Lake Charles man has died following a crash this morning in Calcasieu Parish, according to State Police.

Troopers say that on October 14, 2018, before 3:00 a.m., they responded to a crash on LA Hwy 3256 east of LA Hwy 397 in Calcasieu Parish. The initial investigation revealed a vehicle was traveling east on LA Hwy 3256 near Hungerford Road when it entered a left-hand curve and ran off the roadway.

Officials say that after leaving the roadway, the vehicle struck a tree causing the driver, identified as 32-year-old Errol J. Wilson II of Lake Charles, to be partially ejected. Wilson was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation.
