A 60-year-old man was arrested in Florida accused of sexually molesting a six-year-old at a school being used as a hurricane shelter.
Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office say they arrested John Stapleton on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under the age of twelve.
According to deputies, a witness allegedly told deputies she saw a recording of the child being touched lewdly under her clothing by Stapleton. Deputies say they reviewed the video and that Stapleton allegedly admitted to touching the child but not in a lewd manner.
The incident allegedly took place at Davidson Middle School which had been set up as a shelter for those seeking refuge from Hurricane Michael.
