Video shows the moment meteorologist Jim Cantore was nearly impaled by a piece of flying debris during a live broadcast.

Cantore, who is known for reporting from locations expected to receive the brunt of a storm, was in Panama City Beach for The Weather Channel as Hurricane Michael made landfall.

During that broadcast, Cantore mentions the relenting winds he was experiencing when he pauses mid-sentence. He quickly moves out of the way as a piece of debris, which appears to be a 2×4, flies past the spot where he was standing moments before.

Cantore and others who report on storms often warn of the dangers of flying debris.

Several Twitter users posted videos of the near miss to there accounts.

Michael left widespread destruction as it made its way into the Florida Panhandle, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Two deaths were confirmed as a result of trees falling on homes.

Michael is currently a Tropical Storm and is expected to weaken over the coming days.
