Students at the Episcopal School of Acadiana are encouraging people to vote in the midterm elections.

They set up tables around Albertson’s in Broussard today with information on how to register.

“Voting rates in Louisiana are at a low time,” said Forrest Clarke, civics student, Episcopal School of Acadiana. “They’re 33% and that’s not good for the midterms. People always complain about making a difference. Well this is the time to do it. So we’re out here getting people registered to vote and hopefully, they can make a difference.

The civics classes will be out again tomorrow from nine to one at the A’int No Shade in Cade Cross Country Race.

“The right to vote is a great thing about America. It’s a way to get your opinion out there,” said Clarke. “So if you want to be heard, if you want to put your opinion out there, then just register to vote because that’s the way to do it.”
