LAFAYETTE, La. – Police are still searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide.

Twenty-six-year-old Brent Johnson is wanted for second-degree murder in the shooting death of 39-year-old Jason J. Carbins.

Carbins was shot Thursday, September 6, 2018, on Lafayette Street just yards away from where twenty-one-year-old Ricky Wiltz was shot and killed August 31, 2018. Police say that 26-year-old Brownswin Thibodeaux, of Lafayette, turned himself in on September 5, 2018, in connection with the shooting death of Wiltz.

Police say Johnson should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Johnson’s whereabouts is urged to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
