The Krewe of Bonaparte kicked off its Mardi Gras Season today with a family fun day at Rock ‘n Bowl de Lafayette.

The event included plenty of food, drink and games for all ages, as well as the introduction of the new board members, new Krewe members and the 2019 season’s events.

In addition, the Krewe of Bonaparte accepted donations for The Emily House, a Catholic Charities of Acadiana shelter for homeless women and children. The krewe asked for donations of what they need most; twin size blankets, twin size sheets, towels and diapers.

“Our goal as a Krewe is to continually promote the family Mardi Gras spirit, offering safe and fun ways to allow our members to enjoy the Mardi Gras season and share it with their entire family, regardless of age,” said Denise Giosa, Board President. “We feel this also encourages the children of our members to develop a love and appreciation for Mardi Gras in Acadiana and become members one day too, contributing to the growth of the Krewe in the community.”
