Tonight in Iberia Parish, the New Iberia City council plans to vote in favor of an archaeological survey for areas of Bayou Teche that could house a boat launch.
According to the Daily Iberian, the areas are located near a historic site and the survey must be completed for the city to receive funding. The council plans to accept a Louisiana historic grant award for the New Iberia national register of history tour.
The grant will be distributed during the 2019 fiscal year.
