One lane of the Grand Prairie Highway is closed near the Three Peas in a Pod restaurant while crews work to fix a gas leak, according to the Mire Volunteer Fire Department.
No evacuations were ordered, but the road was completely shut down initially. By 3:45 p.m., the leak was temporarily plugged while fire crews waited for Centrepoint Energy to arrive.
As of 4:45 p.m, one lane was opened while crews began work to repair the break.
Motorists are asked to use caution in the area until the work is complete.
