A woman has told St. Landry Parish deputies that she was kidnapped and held for weeks in the woods near Krotz Springs, deputies say.
The woman says she is from out of state and was sexually assaulted. Deputies have not been able to verify any of her story yet, but the victim is at a hospital now, a spokesman said.
Shortly after the woman approached a deputy at his home with her story, another call came into to deputies about a man trespassing nearby. The homeowner’s son told the man to leave, but the man allegedly pulled a gun and fired at the son, deputies say. The homeowner’s son shot at the trespasser, and grazed him, deputies say. The trespasser is at a hospital being examined, deputies say.
Deputies believe the incidents are connected, but would release no additional details at this time.
