Allegiance Health Management has finalized the purchase of three hospitals in Louisiana from subsidiaries of Tennessee-based LifePoint Health:

  • Mercy Regional Medical Center of Ville Platte
  • Acadian Medical Center (a campus of Mercy Regional) of Eunice
  • Minden Medical Center of Minden

“Over the past months, we have been incredibly impressed by these hospital teams and their commitment to enhancing quality patient care and safety. Louisiana is our home, and we look forward to working with these hospitals to improve healthcare delivery across this region,”  said Rock Bordelon, chief executive officer (CEO) of AHM. “We are delighted to add these hospitals to the AHM health system and further demonstrate our commitment to this region.”

With the purchase of Mercy Regional Medical Center, Acadian Medical Center and Minden Medical Center, the AHM health system grows to 16 hospitals strong in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Arkansas. Its facilities offer a range of inpatient and outpatient services as well as post-acute care and behavioral health services.

The transition is anticipated to be seamless for patients.  Providers and contact information for the hospitals will remain the same. AHM also plans to maintain all services the hospitals currently offer with plans to expand service lines as well.

Allegiance Health Management is a Louisiana based healthcare system with corporate headquarters in Shreveport. With this purchase, it will operate 16 hospitals in four states.

Currently a part of the Tennessee-based LifePoint Health, Mercy Regional Medical Center and its Acadian Medical Center campus make up a 109-bed acute care system serving Evangeline Parish and surrounding communities. Minden Medical Center is a 161-bed acute care hospital serving the southern portion of Webster Parish.
