Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux has appointed Jeffrey Stewart as Interim Director of LUS.
This appointment, officials say will be in place until a permanent director is named. Stewart most recently served as the Engineering & Power Supply Manager for LUS and has worked for the utility system for more than 17 years.
According to a release, Stewart will assume the role as Interim Director of LUS effective immediately. Stewart comes into the interim position after previous Director Terry Huval retired on July 18, 2018.
“Jeff has been an integral part of the team for quite some time and has been a behind-the-scenes hand in the successful operations of the system. He understands the complexity of running LUS and LUS Fiber and has proven himself in both his technical and administrative skills needed to lead the department,” Robideaux said of the appointment.
Stewart has accepted the interim position, according to a release.
