The Department of Children and Family Services says the teen, who was found living out of a shed with no air condition, is no longer with his parents.
The new information comes a day after KATC asked for comments from the department on the status of the child’s living arrangement. Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office told KATC that the teen was still living with his parents after the incident.
"When detectives arrived, we looked at the scene and we did call child protection," Eddie Thibodeaux with the Sheriff’s Office said. "They also responded to the scene and looked at the area. They decided to let the child stay at the home."
DCFS says this is not the case.
According to a spokesperson for the Children and Family Services Department, the teen is now living with another relative.
The teen’s parents were arrested after complaints that the child was living in a shed outside the home with no working air condition. Read more here
