UL is making strides to increase its enrollment numbers. The University launched a virtual tour on its website to encourage more students to become a Ragin’ Cajun. Officials are optimistic this marketing tool will bring in more students.More than 19,200 students are enrolled at UL with 12% of those students from outside of Louisiana."When you look at it from a perspective of diversity, this University does promote and celebrate a diverse student and staff and faculty population, so we want to continue to increase that," said DeWayne Bowie, UL Vice President for Enrollment Management.Increasing that number is not an easy task. Bowie said having a comprehensive marketing plan is key."What we were missing was a way to showcase and for those prospective students to get a feel for what it’s like to be a UL Lafayette student," Bowie said. While on the virtual tour, you can click anywhere on campus to learn about what that space has to offer.Bowie said, "We also have five different themes so you can get a feel of what it’s like to be a student on campus."The virtual tour is led by students and faculty explaining life on campus, culture at UL and around Acadiana, as well as opportunities at UL."Even local students can go and look at this and hopefully get excited about what we have to offer here at the University," said Bowie.
