Parish preparing to dredge Catahoula Lake

Officials in St. Martin Parish are one step closer to dredging the Catahoula Lake.Parish President Chester Cedars says he’s signed a contract to secure a location to dispose of the spoil.He says the area is close enough to the dredge site so they won’t need to pay for boost pumps.The project will cost about $95,000 plus more than $17,000 site preparations."We’re proceeding; and again, that lake will be dredged," said Cedars. "We’re aggressively pursuing it. And the first major holes have been negotiated."
