Troopers arrested a Sulphur man today for possession and distribution of child pornography.
Nicholas Lee Simpson, 28, was booked with possession and distribution of pornography involving juveniles.
Earlier this month, investigators assigned to the Louisiana State Police Special Victim’s Unit began an undercover child exploitation investigation involving images of child sexual abuse. As part of the investigation, a search warrant was served today at a residence in Sulphur by the Louisiana State Police and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.
While serving the search warrant, investigators found evidence indicating Simpson possessed images of child sex abuse. During questioning, Simpson allegedly admitted he downloaded and shared these images.
The investigation is continuing.
