The Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office says they have captured the inmate who escaped while on laundry detail on Saturday.
Deputies say that 40-year-old Dmoine Fitzgerald Ashley was captured without incident by Corrections Security Investigators and deputies assigned to the US Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force.
Ashley escaped from laundry work detail on Saturday at the Rapides Parish Detention Center 1 downtown.
Deputies say that during the escape Ashley slipped out the front door of the facility unnoticed and fled down the stairs. Ashley was able to evade deputies. Several agencies assisted in the search for Ashley.
