Project Front Yard is hosting a pop-up Fix-It Cafe this weekend.

Organizers say that cafe will be a place where community members can gather and bring items in need of repair. Volunteer workers will be on hand to help.

There will be several repair stations for bike repair, small household goods, small appliances, clothing, textiles, and jewelry.

"The Fix-it Café is a great way to bring people together to learn about repairing items that would normally end up in the trash," stated Skyra Rideaux, Project Front Yard Coordinator. "This is an opportunity to give these items a second life!"

The goal of the cafe is to help reduce waste, share knowledge about repairing, and strengthen the community.

Organizers say that members of the public who are interested in participating but don’t have an item in need of repair are invited to lend a hand or stand by and learn while enjoying a cup of coffee and a snack.

The Cafe will be open Saturday, July 21, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Lafayette Main Library located at 301 W. Congress Street.
