The Jeanerette Fire Department says a home sustained serious damage after a fire Thursday night.
Officials say the fire happened in the 1800 block of Main Street in Jeanerette at around 9:30 p.m. The house was occupied at the time, but two people inside that home were able to escape.
The two occupants, firefighters say, were asleep when the fire broke out. There were no injuries.
Foul play is not suspect. The fire originated from the living room of the home. What caused the fire is still under investigation.
