The Iberia Crime Stoppers is warning the public of phone scams.
Callers pose as federal agents, credit card company employees, healthcare professionals and try to get personal information. The scammers may threaten you and claim that they will have you arrested if you do not pay them in gift cards.
Your true debtors will send you letters in the mail regarding your debts and will never ask for your card information on the telephone.
Do not give them your address, banking information or credit card information.
