METAIRIE, La. (AP) – Authorities say two deputies have been injured in a New Orleans-area chase and shootout that led to the arrest of five teenagers.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joseph Lopinto tells news outlets no one was shot during the chase and exchange of gunfire early Wednesday in Metairie and Kenner. The teens range from 13 to 19 years old.

Authorities say the sheriff’s office received a report of people pulling on vehicle door handles. They say the suspects, when confronted, jumped into a stolen car that struck a deputy, who fired at the vehicle. Another deputy’s patrol vehicle was then rammed. Both deputies suffered minor injuries.

Authorities say one of the car’s occupants fired at pursuing deputies, and the teens were detained after their vehicle crashed.

Authorities haven’t yet released any charges.
