Jennings Police Department’s K9 Max to get body armor

The Jennings Police Department says their K9 Officer Max will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from a non-profit organization.

The donation comes from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc of Massachusetts is a non-profit that provides bullet and stab protective vests to K9 officers around the country. K9 Max’s vest will be embroidered with the Sentiment “in memory of K9 Rocco, Pittsburgh Bureau of  Police”.

Jennings Police says the vest is expected to be in within the next few weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. says that the donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950.00. Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283 and a five-year warranty, and an average weight of 4-5 lbs.
