Man convicted in Scott burglary

A Lafayette Parish jury convicted Casey Kelly of Burglary after a two day trial before Judge Marilyn Castle.   

Kelly is facing a sentence of one to 12 years hard labor.

Almost $59,000 worth of property was stolen from the victims’ home which occurred in Scott, Louisiana, on March 20, 2017. A substantial amount of the stolen property was recovered by the lead investigator, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Detective Justin Cressione, with the assistance of the Baton Rouge Police Department and Law Enforcement agencies in Point Coupee Parish.

Assistant District Attorney Robert L. Odinet prosecuted the case.  Judge Marilyn Castle will determine the sentence after a presentence investigation and hearing.
