Lafayette Parish rules on fireworks

If you want to pop fireworks in Lafayette Parish, you can – as long as you do so in the right place at the right time. 

According to ordinance, "fireworks shall include, but is not limited to, firecrackers, roman candles, torpedoes, sky rockets, or any other fireworks of similar kind or character."

In the city of Lafayette, it’s illegal to shoot fireworks at any time. 

In the unincorporated areas of Lafayette Parish, fireworks can be popped today until 1 a.m. and tomorrow from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. 

In Carencro, fireworks can be popped from June 30 until July 5 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Tonight, on July 3, they can be popped until 1 a.m.. 

In Broussard, fireworks can be popped today from 8 a.m. until 1 a.m., and tomorrow and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. 

In Scott, fireworks can be popped today until midnight, and on July 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. 

In Duson, fireworks can be popped today and tomorrow, from noon until 10 p.m. each day. 

In Youngsville, fireworks can be popped today until 1 a.m., and tomorrow from noon until 9 p.m.
