Maurice Assistant Police Chief Guy Nerren and his family lost their home in a fire overnight Thursday.
No one was injured.
Nerren told Mayor Wayne Theriot if it weren’t for the smoke alarms, his family would not have survived.
An account has been set up at the Bank of Erath to help Nerren and his family with recovery. Public donations are welcome.
Mayor Theriot wishes to remind everyone to install smoke alarms inside their homes and test them.
