The city of Kaplan is welcoming a new mayor and police chief.
Mike Kloesel was sworn in as mayor today and Joshua Hardy as police chief.
Mayor Kloesel says his first plan is to tackle the city’s drainage issues.
He also wants to start live streaming city council meetings on social media to get the whole city involved.
"We’re really lucky as a community to have the people that we have on the council. There’s no doubt every one of these guys cares greatly and deeply for their city and their community and everyone in it. We may have different ideas at times on how to achieve something, but I think that we’ll work together, and we’ll get it done for Kaplan," said Kloesel.
