The Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal says they responded to the scene of a reported explosion Thursday afternoon at the Port of Lake Charles.
Officials say the incident was reported around 12:30 p.m. and involves a grain silo. No injuries have been reported and crews with the Lake Charles Fire Department have just put the associated fire out.
It is unclear what caused the explosion.
KPLC in Lake Charles reports that there was no damage to the building or other structures of the facility expect the silo. The silo is on ground leased by IFG Port Holdings.
