Old church to be new Cecilia civic center

 An old Cecilia church will be converted to a civic center.  St. Martin Parish Government finalized the purchase of the Cecilia Baptist Church earlier this month.  The 6,000 sq. ft. build is located near Paul Angelle Memorial Park and the community library.  The next step is for the council to hire an architect to draw up plans for the renovations.  Parish President Chester Cedars says this project will be paid for with bond money that was approved earlier by voters.  His plan is to have the new civic center up and running by this time next year.
