A Powerball ticket purchased in Grand Coteau is now worth $2 million after Saturday night’s drawing.

The ticket purchased at 1 Stop at 536 Martin Luther King Drive in Grand Coteau matched all five regular numbers which were enough for a $1 million win. The ticket, however, had a powerplay multiplier of times two which elevated the winnings to $2 million.

Saturday night’s winning numbers were:

16, 29, 43, 45, 56, and a Powerball of 25.

According to Louisiana Lottery, there were no Jackpot winners during Saturday’s drawing which means the amount will rise from the advertised $40 million to $50 million for this week’s drawing.

The next drawing will be Wednesday, June 27.

This isn’t the first time a winning ticket was purchased at the 1 Stop in Grand Coteau. In December 2017, 1 Stop owner Nasir Sohail won $350,000 after purchasing a ticket from his own store. The store received a 1 percent bonus for selling the winning ticket. Read more below.
