Today, Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. announced its support for U.S. Representative Clay Higgins (LA-03) in his race for reelection to Congress following a personal endorsement by President Trump.
"We are pleased to announce our support for Rep. Clay Higgins in his race for reelection to the 3rd District of Louisiana today following a personal endorsement by President Trump," said Lara Trump, Senior Advisor to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. "Clay Higgins is a law and order Congressman who has been a great supporter of President Trump, especially the President’s historic tax cuts that have created new jobs and growth for the people of the 3rd District of Louisiana," she concluded.
"I am honored to receive the support and personal endorsement of President Trump," Congressman Clay Higgins said. "The President has taken historic action to revitalize our nation’s economy and restore America’s standing in the world. I look forward to working with President Trump to keep America great," he added.
But according to a report, there may be a conflict of interest there.
Politico reports Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani will be in Lafayette next week to headline a fundraiser for Higgins’ challenger Josh Guillory, also a Republican.
Giuliani is said to be dating GOP fundraiser Jennifer LeBlanc, of Lafayette, who used to work on Higgins’ campaign but now is working with Guillory.
