Power back on at St. Mary Parish Jail after outage

The St. Mary Parish Jail was without power for a few hours Wednesday night after an outage. 

The outage, reported by CLECO affected the area around the parish jail in Centerville. It has since been addressed and power has been returned to the facility and surrounding area.

The Sheriff’s Office released this statement on Facebook about the incident at around 9:40 p.m. saying that despite the outage the facility remained secured.

"There is a power outage in the Centerville area which has affected the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. The facility remains secured. Cleco and parish officials are on scene working to correct this matter."
