Trial begins for Florida man accused of stabbing passenger on I-49

Opening arguments have wrapped and the first witnesses have been called in the trial of a Florida man accused of stabbing his passenger on I-49.

KALB is reporting Edwin Paul Frinks, Jr. was arrested last July and indicted on a charge of attempted second degree murder.

Last July, a man named Travis James was found naked, wandering on the interstate near the Turkey Creek exit. When a trooper stopped, he noticed that James had been stabbed in the chest.

According to Rapides Parish Assistant District Attorney Cheryl Carter, James was the passenger in a car with Frinks where James would often pay Frinks in crack in order to use his car.
