Two groups in Lafayette are celebrating all the men in the community for their outstanding work in the field of fatherhood.
The 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette and the Zeta Xi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. teamed up to recognize a few outstanding fathers in our community.
During the event on Friday, the 5th annual celebration for the two groups, four "fathers" were honored for their dedication to their families. The community was asked to nominate outstanding men who serve as exemplary fathers including biological, or adoptive fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, and father-figures.
Those in attendance were treated to a meal followed by an awards ceremony.
