Frank Andrew, a long-time Duson police officer and chief of police, has died.

Andrew worked for the Duson Police Department for 15 years and served as chief for five years. He left the department in 2014.

Duson Police Chief Kip Judice says his officers were called to a home on Rena Street and found Andrew apparently had died in his sleep.

The coroner is running routine tests to determine a possible cause of death. No foul play is suspected.

Andrew, 52, is survived by a host of brothers and sisters, as well as a 12-year-old son, Judice says.

"Prayers are being offered by the Duson Police Department, Chief, and staff to the family," Judice said. "Frank’s 15 years of service to the Duson community are not forgotten."
