Three arrested in connection with fatal hit and run in Amelia

St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people in connection with a fatal hit and run in Amelia. 

According to deputies, detectives found evidence connecting Kristie Blanchard, Johnny Giroir, and Leo Vining to the fatal hit-and-run crash on Duhon Boulevard in Amelia on Monday, June 11, 2018. 43-year-old Leslie Matthews was killed in that incident. 

Through the investigation, detectives obtained a warrant for Blanchard’s arrest on the charge of felony hit-and-run.

Detectives also obtained warrants for Giroir and Vining’s arrest on the charge of obstruction of justice, according to a release. Blanchard, Giroir, and Vining were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking and incarceration.
