Open enrollment for Healthy Louisiana begins June 15, 2018, and runs through July 31, 2018, the state Department of Health announces.

During this time, people enrolled in Medicaid’s managed care program, known as Healthy Louisiana, have the opportunity to choose a new health plan or do nothing and remain with their current plan. There are five health plans that deliver physical and behavioral health care services to the nearly 1.5 million Healthy Louisiana enrollees.

This once-a-year opportunity is the only time Healthy Louisiana enrollees can choose a new health plan without a qualifying reason, outside of their initial enrollment period.

Enrollment changes made during this time will go into effect on September 1.

All enrollees were mailed letters notifying them of the open enrollment period and the steps they must take if they want to make a change. Those wishing to remain with their current health plan do not need to take any action. The enrollee will remain with that health plan for another year as long as they are still qualified to receive Medicaid.

There are several ways for a member to change health plans. The Healthy Louisiana mobile app provides the fastest means to make a change and includes additional features to help manage enrollment year round. The app is available for both Apple and Android devices.

Members can also make changes by calling 1-855-229-6848 or visiting www.myplan.healthy.la.gov.
