Union Pacific has provided and installed a new training prop at the St. Landry Parish Public Safety Training Center.
The addition of this tank car will give all the departments an opportunity for hands on training, officials say.
"Being familiar with their equipment and our ability to respond can be magnified in a positive way by knowing the types of equipment they have and the types that are out there," says St. Landry Parish President Bill Fontenot. "We are communicating very often and our first responders take their jobs very seriously."
