Iberia Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal accident on East Admiral Doyle.
A man has died after being struck by a delivery truck in the parking lot of the Tobacco Plus at 1005 E. Admiral Doyle, a spokesman said.
The man was walking in the lot and the driver of the truck didn’t see him, the spokesman said. The accident happened at about 10 a.m.
As is required by state law, the driver is being tested for drugs and alcohol, the spokesman said.
Deputies are investigating the circumstances of the accident, and the coroner will handle notification and release of the victim’s identity, he said.
