We have new information tonight about a body found in St. Landry parish over the weekend

Deputies have not yet confirmed the victim’s identity, but family members tell us it was Simone Robin, 19, of St. Martinville. We’re told she was identified using tattoos and fingerprints.

The body was discovered after St. Landry Parish deputies responded to an ATV accident along Spillway Road this weekend. They said she was wrapped in a bloody blanket.

Meanwhile, the State Fire Marshal’s Office says Robin’s home on Bayou Mercier Road in the Catahoula community was set on fire over the weekend. The man accused of setting it is Brandon Boutte, 25, of Kinder. He’s been booked with arson.

The fire was set Saturday afternoon. Robin’s body was found Saturday night.

There’s no word yet if Boutte is connected to her death.

We’ve reached out to the Coroner, and to deputies in St. Martin and St. Landry parishes. We haven’t been able to get any updates on this story since the body was discovered Saturday night.

We will keep working this story and will update it as soon as we receive more information.
