An Iberia Parish grand jury indicted a local man Friday in connection with the murder of Ian Jones.

Jones, 27, was shot multiple times in February, and died of his injuries at a New Orleans hospital in March.

The grand jury indicted Joshua P. Raved, 29, with second-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. Raved has a previous felony conviction for domestic abuse battery.

At the time of the shooting, investigators told us they believe there was an argument outside the home between the victim and Raved shortly before shots were fired.

If convicted on the murder charge, Raved faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
