The Acadia Parish Library is setting up a new camp that will focus on preserving historical sites throughout the parish.
The seven-week Recollections Art Camp will be held in Crowley every Friday until July 13.
The program allows children to learn about the history of their own community in a more hands-on way.
"I got to thinking it would be a good way to get them interested through art because they’re really really interested in art," Claire Dore, librarian. "And give them the opportunity to look at these buildings, research the history and paint what they think it looks like."
