Volunteers with the Citizen’s Climate Lobby are sending their group off to DC with a barbeque in Lafayette.

Three volunteers are going to be speaking with Louisiana congressmen and senators in Washington about climate change.

They hope that by bringing bi-partisan suggestions, support will come from all sides of the political spectrum

"We’ve been working to educate and advocate for climate policy that is bi partisan that is good for our economy and good for our  climate and our economy for the past couple of years. Its something that we have a lot of concern for here in Louisiana of course we see some impacts here in Louisiana and of course we know folk all around the world that are seeing impacts," said Jessica Schulz, co-leader of Citizen’s Climate Lobby.

The send off was held at Oaklawn Park in Lafayette.
