The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department says that the Juvenile Detective Section has arrested a Eunice man after an investigation into reports of alleged rape and passing of a sexually transmitted disease to two underage victims.

Detectives with the department say that the investigation into the alleged rape began on April 30 when a 12-year-old girl reported that the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Travis Jermaine Robinson of Eunice, had sex with her. The department says the victim saw a pediatrician for medical problems after the encounter and tested positive for an STD.

According to a press release, Robinson was interviewed on May 1 where detectives say he denied interactions with the 12-year-old victim. Deputies say that key evidence was uncovered during the interview and that a DNA search was executed on Robinson. According to deputies, test results from Robinson showed he was positive for the same STD as the victim.

During the investigation, deputies say a 14-year-old girl came forward with a report of Robinson inappropriately touching her and engaging in sexual acts. Deputies say this victim was taken to local health unit where she tested positive for the same strand of STD as Robinson.

Robinson was arrested and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on 3 counts of second-degree rape; sexual battery. His bond is set at $250,000.
