Congressman Clay Higgins is making sure veterans are aware of the benefits they can receive.
The U.S. Representative held a workshop in Crowley today to help with filing claims and enrolling in health care.
He also went over veteran affairs legislation passed and pending in Washington.
"They should be able to turn to anyone in the community whether its the Congressman’s office, the VA or the state," Mark Bologna, Director of New Orleans Veterans Benefit Office. "People should know what they need to help get them to the right thing. When we come together like this, it really shows that we are a community of people serving a community of people."
