State police tell KATC that they are investigating an officer involved shooting that happened overnight in Lafayette. Here is what we know right now: it happened at the Super 7 Motel on the Evangeline Thruway just south of I 10. No officer was injured in the shooting, but a suspect was transported to a local hospital. The suspect’s condition is not known. A witness tells KATC that they heard shouting followed by gunshots.
