Funeral arrangements have been set for the 11-year-old killed in a crash in Opelousas over the weekend.

Family members say that memorial services for Bryla Rachelle Bell will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas. Services begin at 12:30 p.m.

Burial will be at Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas.

The family tells KATC that Bell was picked up at her mother’s house in Lawtell by two unknown male suspects in a stolen vehicle Saturday evening. Her mother followed after them but later called the police to assist. Police say when they attempted to stop the vehicle, two male suspects fled while the vehicle was still moving, leaving Bell inside.

Bryla Bell allegedly took control of the wheel and then continued to flee from officers before crashing into a tree at St. Landry Catholic Church on N Main Street.

The family says she died at the scene.

The family spoke to KATC on Bryla’s death and are asking for those two suspect to come forward. Read more on that story here
