Acadiana Veterans heading to Washington, D.C. this morning

This morning, a group of Acadiana World War II Veterans will be heading to Washington, D.C. as part of the Heroes Flight program. 

Members of the community are asked to head out to Lafayette Regional Airport at 8:30 am for a patriotic send-off for these veterans. The flight will leave the airport at 9:30 am. 

The flight is free to veterans and was organized by Brookshire Grocery. 

KATC’s Jim Hummel will be traveling with the veterans to Washington, D.C. and will bring updates on events during the week.
