A runaway juvenile was killed in an overnight crash in Opelousas.
Opelousas police say the juvenile, a runaway from outside of Opelousas city limits, was driving a stolen vehicle shortly after midnight when officers tried to stop the vehicle.
The juvenile driver then fled from officers before crashing into an embankment near the St. Landry Catholic Church on N Main Street, according to a spokesperson for the Opelousas Police Department.
The identity of the juvenile is being withheld pending a criminal investigation.
