Posted

Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Turkey Creek Friday night.

Deputies and Turkey Creek Police officers were called to Snoddy Lane and found a man had been shot during an argument. Both men were armed, deputies say.

The man who was shot, Edwin Wesley Snoddy, died at the scene, deputies say.

The other man, John Isaac Foret, left the scene but waited nearby for law enforcement to arrive, deputies say. He was questioned, but said he wanted to speak to his attorney. Deputies released Foret "until more is learned," a release states.
