UPDATE: The body of a 67-year-old man who went missing while boating in the Intracoastal Waterway in Vermilion Parish this morning has been recovered.

Louisiana Wildlife enforcement agents found Arnold "Pete" Lege, of Mouton Cove, in the water at 5:40 p.m. They believe Lege, for unknown reasons, went overboard. Agents say Lege was by himself.

Sergeant Justin Sonnier says their department received a report about an unoccupied boat in the ICW around sunrise. Agents then conducted a search/recovery mission, closing off that part of the waterway.

The Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search.

Lege’s body has been turned over to the Vermilion Parish Coroner’s Office for an official cause of death.
