The City of Rayne has issued a boil water advisory for some residents of the city due to low water pressure.

City officials say that the low pressure in the water supply lines is due to water line repairs within the water supply system.

Residents on East E, F, and G Streets from Margaret Street east to dead end are now under a boil water advisory. The advisory will remain in effect until rescinded by the City of Rayne Water System.

Officials are recommending that residents disinfect their water before consuming (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using water for food prep or rinsing foods.

To ensure safety those under the boil advisory should Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after
the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by
shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another,
or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)
